Dear Carlo, let me shortly introduce myself – I’m Johannes and I work with the European Renewable Energies Federation (EREF), which is the EU umbrella of national and regional renewable associations, and represents the interests of independent renewable power producers towards EU institutions and the wider energy and climate stakeholder community. As EREF, we are, in parallel to policy-making, engaged in projects that are supported by donors such as the European Commission as well as national agencies such as the German GIZ. Since August, we are in the process of implementing a GIZ project in Côte d’Ivoire, with the purpose of supporting and structuring the renewables and energy efficiency sector of the country, mostly by improving understanding on needs and opportunities, and by conducting capacity-building and advocacy. We are doing this together with the German umbrella for renewables (BEE, please meet my dear colleague Serafina here in copy) and the German solar associations (BSW), as well as two national experts. We would much appreciate to schedule a short exchange on the activities we are carrying out and look into areas where we could cooperate, in terms of best practice sharing, events or formulating policy advice. Topic-wise, we are looking at self-production / consumption and off-grid solutions, financing of renewable projects, and energy audits. Would you or an involved colleague be available anytime between 9 am and 2 pm next Thursday, 31 October? Thank you very much in advance. With kind regards, Johannes Johannes Vollmer Senior Project Officer EREF - EUROPEAN RENEWABLE ENERGIES FEDERATION Avenue Marnix 28 1000 Brussels
