Climate Change adaptation and professional gender equality
The project is under implementation and at the stage of selection of first projects. The technical assistance has been recruited.Gender and adaptation studies are completed which are being used to finalize the eligibility criteria.
The grant will be disbursed to the partner banks in parallel to the credit facility. However, the project sponsors will receive the grant after verification of the project by an independent verification consultant. The disbursement by the partner banks to the project sponsors of the IG will therefore happen after the eligible project implementation, which can take between a few months up to a year or more depending on the projects. The credit line will be operational in 2019.
The project expects creating a demonstration effect/scaling up the market to address the adaptation to climate change agenda of Mauritius. It also aims at promoting gender equity among projects financed.
